June Meeting/Seminar at Dearborn Farms

Jenny Angel, Beatrice Nicholson, Leslie Heffner, and Lillian Biviano were some of the members who visited Dearborn.

The Annadale Garden Club, a member of the First District Federated Garden Clubs of NYS, Inc., met at Dearborn Farms (Holmdel, NJ) to help celebrate National Gardening Week. Club President Leslie Heffner started the meeting by announcing that club members Olga Federico, Denise Solomon, Jean Bennett, Bea Nicholson, Barbara Hosie, Joel Heffner, and Leslie Heffner were all award winners at the recent First District “Fiddler on the Roof” Flower Show. In coordination with the club’s 2010 them of “Growing Together” the members took part in a workshop on unusual houseplants, viewed the farm’s growing greenhouse, and had a tour of the family’s private orchard of apple, pear, plum, and citrus trees. The club’s next meeting will feature a trip to Brock Farms (Freehold, NJ) where members will view water gardens and the water lilies that beautify them. For more information about the club call (917) 327-5720.

What did I grow last summer…?

The best way to remember what you grew is to take plenty of pictures. Digital cameras make picture taking easy and less expensive. You can take as many pictures as you’d like and only print the ones you really want. Garden memories are vivid with pictures.

And the club officers will be…

The Annadale Garden Club held its annual election at the November meeting. The new club officers will be:

President: Leslie Heffner
Vice-President: Joel Heffner
Corresponding Secretary: Olga Federico
Recording Secretary: Barbara Hosie
Treasurer: Denise Solomon
Board of Directors
Jean Bennett and Karen Masculi (2008-2010)
Christine Angel and Georgie Hicenbothem (2010-2012)

The new officers will be installed at the club’s next meeting on December 4, 2009.

Wow…what an auction!

Last night, the Annadale Garden Club conducted their 2nd annual auction. It was a huge success. In addition to members of the club there were lot’s of folks from other clubs who came. Everyone had a fun time…and took home all kinds of goodies. Thanks to all of those who attended and special thanks to those who made the event possible by contributing goods and helping to set up the auction. Wow…what an auction!

All pots are the same…right?

Some people think of pots as being the same. Here’s a pot with its own personality…and face!
